			<description><![CDATA[By riemu<br />Danger.<br /><br />Having wings must be a dangerous thing, just floating up there without a worry. All those lovely PHs have forgotten the dangers lurking down on the ground, dirt, ditches, splinters, warts... I spotted how two foolhardy winged folks had descended and were dancing barefoot among the trees, how irresponsible. One should be more cautious when getting down and dirty. A fair warning for all you out there about the worst danger of them all, warts.<br /><br />Warts are evil, devil’s laugh laughing tiny scamps also known as viruses. Living on their ancient wart kingdom tiny wart-citizens, wart forefathers, were stomped by a huge bare probable human foot, from which they got permanent trauma after seeing the protruding fishline like hairs on the big toe and embellished worn out and dry calluses on the heel. Wart forefathers decided that not a single human foot would stamp on them again, so they established a militia against human feet. Since then whenever warts meet a barefoot, they are eager to attack.<br /><br />How to protect yourself from them?<br />Protection is difficult if not impossible. Wart’s hate against barefeet can’t be forgotten, for example on a beach it’s good to keep sandals or some sort of footwear with you. It also isn’t very smart to go poking friends warts, because warts can take that as a malicious gesture and attack you too in their outrage. Warts live everywhere and those small organisms remember even that one time unfortunate adventurer sat on their camp.<br /><br />Can you get rid of them?<br />That is difficult also because you’re not dealing with some phlegmatic and lazy species here but with WARTS. That vicious community isn’t in anyway easily disposed of. But there is some good news, warts usually aren’t endlessly unforgiving. When they have sniffed your toes for two years, some beautiful day all of a sudden they often disappear without a trace. But if you don’t have the patience to wait for that moving day, human world has tried to come up with some solutions against the wart colony war.<br /><br />Burning: Warts don’t like heat and at the latest when doctor pokes their nest with a nasty looking pointy hot stick, they leave grunting. But don’t think that the war is officially over... Warts have marked your toes and can return to their territory again.<br />Sunlight: This is the cleanest way to get rid of those nasty buggers although it may cause some side effects, like dehydration and blindness. Excessive sunlight makes warts brains haywire and as they’re delirious they’ll accidentally leave their home.<br />Duct tape: Effective but long-winded way to evict the wart community. Warts don’t give up easily but they’ll carry on fighting against the duct tape about three months, until poor warts run out of oxygen. So you’ll have to keep the tape in place for a really long time if you want to show the warts the high way to heaven. They won’t become demoralized by little efforts.<br /><br />By retor<br />Le Hog Pizza<br />Italian Special<br /><br />Ingredients<br /><br />* 8 ounces pizza dough<br />* Cornmeal, for dough<br />* 1 1/2 to 2 cups White Sauce, recipe follows<br />* 3 Meatballs, broken up, recipe follows<br />* Chopped cooked bacon, for topping<br />* Chopped Canadian bacon, for topping<br />* Chopped ham, for topping<br /><br />Directions<br /><br />Special Equipment: pizza stone<br /><br />Preheat oven with a pizza stone to 500 degrees F.<br /><br />Sprinkle some cornmeal onto a clean work surface. Roll the dough out to form a 10-inch round. Sprinkle the back of a sheet pan with cornmeal and place pizza on top. Spread with white sauce then top with the broken up meatballs, bacon, Canadian bacon and ham. Bake until dough is cooked through, golden and crispy and sauce is bubbling, about 15 minutes.<br /><br />This recipe was provided by professional chefs and has been scaled down from a bulk recipe provided by a restaurant. The Food Network Kitchens chefs have not tested this recipe, in the proportions indicated, and therefore, we cannot make any representation as to the results.<br />For the White Sauce:<br /><br />* 1/4 cup butter<br />* 8 ounces yellow onion, finely diced<br />* 2 tablespoons chopped garlic<br />* 3/4 cup all-purpose flour<br />* 1 1/2 cups chicken stock<br />* 1 quart heavy whipping cream<br />* 1 pinch black pepper<br />* 8 ounces grated Parmesan<br />* 1 pinch ground nutmeg<br />* 2 tablespoons course ground black pepper<br /><br />In large pot, over medium heat, add the butter, onion and garlic and saute until the onion is translucent. Stir in the flour and when flour starts to bubble, whisk in the chicken stock, and remaining ingredients. Remove from stove and let cool.<br /><br />Yield: 1 quart<br />For the meatballs:<br /><br />* 2 pounds ground beef<br />* 1/2 pound Italian sausage, casing removed<br />* 3/4 cups finely chopped green pepper<br />* 3/4 cups finely chopped yellow onions<br />* 1/4 cup finely chopped garlic<br />* 1/2 cup finely grated Parmesan<br />* 3 cups Italian bread crumbs<br />* 3 eggs<br />* 1/4 cup freshly chopped parsley leaves<br /><br />Preheat oven to 400 to 450 degrees F.<br /><br />In a large bowl, mix together all the ingredients. Let sit 15 minutes, then form into 2 to 3 ounce balls. Place on a sheet tray and bake 15 to 20 minutes until cooked through.<br /><br />Yields about 18 meatballs.<br /><br />By Volcan<br />Island Adventures:<br />Windberry Island<br /><br />Hello fellow NEaBians! Another article for Island Adventures. Today I visited Windberry Island managed by Smurfsrule. You would have to be a brave adventure to come here. The monsters are different, some strong some weak. I would recommend coming here around level 40 or higher. Don't forget Heal potions too! I am see here standing by castle smurf, curiosity has gotten too me about this place. Maybe there could be a new quest waiting for me in there? Truthfully I have not been on Smurfsrule's island before. Not much more I can tell about this place, come see for yourself! That concludes this Island Adventures!<br /><br />By Volcan<br />Island Adventures:<br />Hemyock Island<br /><br />Today I am on Hemyock created by a player administrator named Zorich. His quests are quite hard to solve I have stumbled upon one and... can not figure out a resolution. Questing though is important some offer grand rewards. I would recommend this island if you are a player who enjoys a challenge. I must admit that I am not too good at quests. So, I am not always good at judging how hard quests are. My advice is only to tell you of quests that I find interesting. Talk to other players about them. Hemyock is a very large island meaning there is much to do on the island. Come explore Hemyock! 			<description><![CDATA[A new preview version is online... For most of you it will not be really a step forward as for example I removed all the enemies currently. However you can see each others (even if not yet chat), and missions are fully handled by admins via the admin menu (which is not visible beside for admins).<br /><br />Some tweaks are there however like a better star background, a changed color scheme (which should allow us soon to offer multiple color schemes), and a lot more.<br /><br />Now the new version requires a registration, which will be kept, however your game state will not!]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[1.  Another thing pro keeping up generic places is that the pickpocketing skill is currently linked to generic places.<br /><br />2.  As to the emply spaces between the different player islands,  I agree they could be filled up with some towns/shops/little quests.  It's an idea that is on my to do list.  I sailed the whole of neab a few months ago to correct bad tiles on the system islands and back than it occured to me that lots of these island could be used for healing during sea journeys,  or little quests, .... .<br /><br />3.  As to the player islands with Non Active IMs I'm still not sure on what to do.  Some are certainly worth keeping, but for some I have the feeling they don't contribute too much and can be deleted.  Second thought:  I don't think it is easy (e.g. healer's island) to go found out how some IMs wrote their quests,  used variables, ....]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[I like the idea of making empty system islands more interesting, it would definitely liven things up.  It doesn't have to be anything major, just the feeling of finding something new is usually enough to interest people.<br /><br />As for the inactive islands, it'd be good to find one or two editors who will be able to upkeep any bugs.  In general though, we can probably leave most of the islands as they are.  Some are still interesting despite the fact that they are not being updated, and as their managers did spend a lot of time working on them I'd rather not remove them from the map.  Does the editor position also cover system islands such as Tuffel Island?  I know that there are some buggy quests that should be fixed/removed on some of them.]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[As an addition to this, maybe someone/someones could be given a role to edit many of the empty system islands? There are a few islands such as the monkey infested one and the barbarian one that spice up the world map but the big gaps between player islands are pretty monotonous. I think it would be cool if a IM with good map design skills could be assigned to create a few small villages/fishing towns/trading posts/pirates/hunters/etc. to liven up the world map. A position like that might even open up the possibility of adding quest NPCs for island managers who want to use the new villages as part of a quest.<br /><br />2D villages are not all that time consuming to make and having more of them with varied merchants would spice up the world map quite a bit.]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[Might be kind of an unpopular idea, and might use some tweaking, but maybe some islands should be removed from the main map and treated as special areas? For example, I created 2 orphaned islands before my old account was deleted that are now system controlled but they are not on the main map and are only accessed via links to them that I created on my island.<br /><br />My idea would be to add a historic books section to the Soupir Library with a book named after each of the islands. Therefore, all of the oddball orphaned islands would become interactive storybook histories of islands that used to exist in NEaB long ago. Then give someone the role of Island Historian to keep up these &quot;books&quot; and fix bugs. This would separate the role of Island Editor and restrict it to just those islands while allowing them to explore the more bug free and kept up islands without having the Editor Role to worry about.<br /><br />The one flaw I can see with this idea is all the Inter-Island quests out there, that would complicate it a little <img src="http://forums.nodalideas.com/templates/default/smilies/confused.gif" alt=":?" />]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[Agreed, updating old islands with inactive managers is not only a bad idea (in my opinion, and I even thought about mentioning not doing this in my previous post because I knew it would come up), but it would not be feasible anyways. 			<description><![CDATA[I remember that there were some positions for fixing bugs in islands with inactive IMs, but as far as I can recall, the people who used to fill those posts aren't as active anymore either.  It might be time to look for replacements.<br /><br />By the way, system islands need to be checked for bugs too.  I remember experiencing some bugs in system islands whenever I visited, but hardly anybody ever replied when I sent in the reports.<br /><br />For upkeep of nonactive islands, would that include making sure that all locations are available, or that some are appropriately changed to 2D locations?  I know that there is a large, blocked off island in Shadow Archipelago.  Not sure if Kenshin was mostly done with it, but it'd be nice to see it released if it is.]]></description>
